Twenty years ago while in grad school for costume design, I had a dream about a diner in the middle of nowhere where a woman named Flora served up steaming bowls of primordial soup from a hole in the kitchen where the earth had never completely hardened. The diner was named Flora's Pond. People came quietly from all over to recharge with Flora's soup. I see that for me, being creative, pulling that stuff out of that hole for other people to enjoy is what makes me truly happy, what recharges me and gives my life meaning. At the time, I didn't think I was Flora, but 20 years later, I see that I am.
Another thing I've learned about myself is that I hate to manufacture things. I'll make some things more than once, but not much more than that! I love making new things and can't seem to stick with one medium. Here, you'll see some things I made some time ago and some things I made yesterday. The common thread is that they're all made by me!
